North American landbirds in the Western Palearctic: a review of species missing from the British List

Currently, there are 24 North American landbird species recorded in the Western Palearctic that are not on the British List, although four of these have occurred in Ireland. With reference to the predictions of Chandler Robbins in BB in 1980, the migration and occurrence patterns of these species are discussed, along with factors affecting the likelihood of these species reaching Britain.
