An ABS Lifetime Member Remembered

I first met Cheryl Owens when she needed a ride. She was in her 70s and was due for a hip replacement, making her unable to drive long distances. The Fort Wayne Bonsai Club was a 1 hour, 20 minute drive from Cheryl's Elkhart, IN residence and they haddiscovered that I passed her on my way to their meetings. Nothing so minor as major surgery was going to interfere with Cheryl attending her bonsai meetings. This was but the first of many bonsai road trips short and long that I was to enjoy as her chaperone.
