Hematopoietic cell transplantation (HCT) recipients and their caregivers should be educated regarding strategies to avoid environmental exposure to opportunistic pathogens (AIII). Hematopoietic cell transplantation recipients and candidates should maintain frequent and consistent hand hygiene (All), especially related to the following: Before eating or preparing food. After changing diapers. After touching plants or dirt. After urinating or defecating. After touching animals.
