Mideast PS converters import small lots from regional suppliers

SINGAPORE (ICIS)--Middle East polystyrene (PS) converters are procuring small lots from regional suppliers while watching for further price cues in the upstream styrene monomer market, market sources said on Wednesday. A General Purpose PS (GPPS) lot was traded at $1,470-1,480/tonne (cost & freight) Middle East this week but converters deemed that the cargo was too expensive compared to other Asian origins despite still being in the market for smaller lots for their April requirements.
