China's SP Chemicals to cut SM, VCM production on weak margins

SINGAPORE (ICIS)--China’s SP Chemicals is cutting back on the operations of its ethylene downstream plants in Jiangsu province due to weak margins, a company source said on Friday. It plans to lower utilisation levels at its 320,000 tonne/year styrene monomer (SM) facility in Taixing to around 70% capacity in June, from full rates currently, the source said.
