Belgium's Solvay inaugurates new PVDF plant in Changshu, China

LONDON (ICIS)--Solvay has inaugurated its new polyvinylidene fluoride (PVDF) plant in Changshu, China, although production started in July, the Belgian producer said on Tuesday. The facility was announced in July 2015 and had been originally scheduled to begin production in early 2017, according to Solvay at the time. "Solvay's consistent expansion on the Changshu site, this time with a new [branded name] Solef PVDF plant, shows we are committed to serve our customers from Asia, where demand is particularly strong," said Augusto Di Donfrancesco, president of Solvay's specialty polymers global business unit.
