LONDON (ICIS)--Recep Tayyip Erdogan is no stranger to controversy. The increasingly powerful strongman of Turkish politics has positioned himself in a near unassailable position. But while his personal stock has risen, the Turkish economy has suffered. Political uncertainty followed last year's referendum and limited trading. This improved towards the end of 2017 but unease returned on the announcement of the 2018 presidential vote. Prices stagnated in both periods.
