Germany’s BASF Q2 net profit dips 1%; sales up 3%

SINGAPORE (ICIS)--BASF’s second-quarter net profit dipped 1% year on year to €1.48bn, as growth in sales volume and higher prices were offset by negative currency effects, the German chemical producer said on Friday. Sales for the three months to June 2018 inched up 3% to €16.8bn, with operating profit up 5% at €2.29bn, the company said in a statement.
