US April existing home sales fall 2.5% from March

HOUSTON (ICIS)--US existing home sales fell by 2.5% in April following two months of gains, the National Association of Realtors (NAR) said on Thursday. All four major regions had no gain in sales activity last month. The 2.5% drop consists of total existing home sales, which NAR noted are completed transactions that include single-family homes, townhomes, condominiums and co-ops. The sales fell to a seasonally adjusted annual rate of 5.46m in April from 5.60m in March. Sales are 1.4% below the same time last year.
