S&P raises US Q2 GDP growth forecast, eyes three '19 rate hikes

HOUSTON (ICIS)—S&P Global has raised its second-quarter forecast for US GDP growth to 3.9%, the credit ratings agency said on Friday. The new forecast is 50 basis points higher than the group’s March forecast. The US economy is “on solid footing”, and it should deliver a strong second-quarter GDP reading and extend the economic expansion, said Beth Ann Bovino, US chief economist at S&P Global.
