HOUSTON (ICIS)--Mike Sommers has been elected as the new president and CEO of the American Petroleum Institute (API), the US oil and gas trade organisation said on Wednesday. Sommers is currently president and CEO of the American Investment Council. He is replacing Jack Gerard, who announced in January that he will step down from his 10-year role come summer.
