INSIGHT: Plastic waste, new governments and trade take centre stage at APLA 2018

CANCUN, Mexico (ICIS)--The 38th Latin American Petrochemical Association (APLA) meeting saw a whirlwind of activity with plastic waste, new incoming governments in Mexico and Brazil, the US Mexico Canada Agreement (USMC) and trade flows as hot areas of discussions. Keynote speaker Bob Patel, CEO of LyondellBasell, challenged the chemical industry to assume responsibility for cleaning up plastic waste and to create sustainable methods of preventing pollution.
