China Q1 gasoil exports up 11.9% on year amid domestic supply glut

SINGAPORE (ICIS)--China’s first-quarter gasoil exports increased by 11.93% year on year to 4.7m tonnes amid an oversupplied domestic market, official data showed. Domestic demand for gasoil slowed down in January-March 2018, even as economic growth remained at 6.8%. Gasoil-dependent secondary industry has been overtaken by the service sector due to China’s economic restructuring.
