EU states should practice what they preach on Reach enforcement – Cefic

HELSINKI (ICIS)--EU member states need to properly enforce Reach legislation on materials entering their borders if industry is to follow it, the director of European chemicals industry body Cefic said on Thursday. Countries in the region need to invest more strongly in customs and border checks on materials and products entering the EU to ensure that substances that local producers have been prevented from using under the Reach restriction and authorisation guidelines are not creeping into Europe, according to Cefic director Marco Mensink.
