China LLDPE falls on more supply, weak futures market

SINGAPORE (ICIS)--China’s spot domestic prices for linear low-density polyethylene (LLDPE) have been falling due to increased supply and weak futures market of the polymer. On 20 June, domestic prices in south China dropped to yuan (CNY) 9,175/tonne ($1,416/tonne), down by CNY50/tonne from the previous day, according to ICIS data. Prices have decreased by 2.4% from 13 June, the data showed. Supply increased as some plants have restarted from turnarounds in June while imports grew.
