AFPM '18: US MA market could face upward pressure on upcoming outages

HOUSTON (ICIS)--US maleic anhydride (MA) prices could face upward pressure in the second quarter, as supply is set to tighten with two upcoming outages, sources said heading into this year's International Petrochemical Conference (IPC). Export activity is also likely to remain healthy, as MA is tight in other regions. However, some Asian producers said they will divert some of their cargoes to the US amid better netbacks.
