UK’s Johnson Matthey wins tech contract for Methanex's US Geismar 3 project

LONDON (ICIS)--Johnson Matthey has won a contract to provide its technology to Methanex’s proposed new 1.8m tonne/year methanol plant in Geismar, Louisiana, the UK-based chemical technologies company said on Thursday. Pending Methanex’s final investment decision (FID), expected for mid-2019, Matthey will provide a license for its autothermal reforming (ATR) technology for the Geismar 3 project, along with related engineering, proprietary equipment and catalyst supply, it said.
