LONDON (ICIS)--Arkema has signed a strategic alliance agreement with US advanced composites firm Hexcel to develop thermoplastic composite solutions for the aerospace sector, the French specialty chems company said on Monday. The partnership will combine Arkema's expertise in poly-ether-ketone-ketone (PEKK) and Hexcel's in carbon fiber to develop carbon fiber-reinforced thermoplastic tapes to produce lightweight parts for future generations of aircraft, Arkema said.
