LyondellBasell sets 70% allocation for US GAA customers

HOUSTON (ICIS)--Following a force majeure on US glacial acetic acid (GAA) declared last week, LyondellBasell put all of its US customers on a monthly allocation of 70%. In a letter dated 20 February, LyondellBasell said the allocation stemmed from the force majeure declared on 16 February, which came after the company shut down or partially curtailed the production of acetic acid at its 544,000 tonne/year plant in La Porte, Texas.
