Russia's Uralkali confirms plans to divert potash sales from China, India

LONDON (ICIS)--Uralkali will divert some potash sales away from China and India due to what it perceives as low benchmark prices, a source at the Russian muriate of potash (MOP) fertilizer producer said on Tuesday. Earlier this week, Russian news agency Interfax quoted Uralkali's deputy chairman Dmitry Mazepin as saying that this year Uralkali had only agreed a contract to sell “minor volumes” of potash to China for $290/tonne CFR (cost and freight).
