Japan chemicals exports in June grow 11.6% year on year

SINGAPORE (ICIS)--Japan’s chemicals exports in June rose by 11.6% year on year to yen (Y) 729.2bn ($6.5bn), supported by increased shipments in plastic materials and organic chemicals, the country’s Ministry of Finance said on Thursday. Organic chemicals exports rose by 6.2% year on year to Y153.8bn; while plastic materials shipments rose by 5.3% to Y218.9bn although volumes declined by 6.2% to 492,832 tonnes, the MOF said in a statement.
