US August cumene under pressure from feedstock costs

HOUSTON (ICIS)--US cumene prices in August are under pressure from lower feedstock costs, as upstream refinery-grade propylene (RGP) prices dropped in early August.July cumene is assessed at 34-35 cents/lb ($750-772/tonne). Upstream benzene costs had fallen in August. Cumene contract prices are formula based and tied to movements in the same-month benzene and RGP costs.
