Vessel traffic jammed on US Houston Ship Channel from ITC clean-up

HOUSTON (ICIS)--Getting chemicals out of storage tanks on the US Houston Ship Channel this week has become a huge logistics problem because of clean-up activities and vessel decontamination related to the recent Intercontinental Terminals (ITC) fire. A vessel traffic jam has developed on the waterway, with 53 ships awaiting inbound traffic and 21 ships awaiting departure as of midday on Friday, according to the Houston Pilots.
