US May ethylene contracts settle lower on lower spot prices, costs

HOUSTON (ICIS)--US May ethylene contracts settled down by 0.75 cent/lb from April for a majority of the market amid lower spot prices and production costs, market sources said. The settlement puts May contracts at 24.25 cents/lb ($535/tonne) DEL (delivered). US ethylene contract prices are typically settled at the beginning of the month for the prior month and track spot prices and production costs in the prior month.
