HOUSTON (ICIS)--US production of paraxylene (PX) in the third quarter fell year on year, according to data from the American Fuel & Petrochemical Manufacturers (AFPM).Despite a slight increase in downstream terephthalic acid (PTA) and polyethylene terephthalate (PET) demand during the summer, a true peak season for PET failed to materialise, amid the US-China trade war and longer-term easing consumer demand for single-use plastic.
