Cepsa investing €100m to upgrade and expand Spanish LAB plant

LONDON (ICIS)--Cepsa is going ahead with a €100m upgrade and expansion project of its linear alkyl benzene (LAB) facility at Puente Mayorga, Cadiz, Spain, the Spanish energy and petrochemicals company confirmed on Tuesday. With the project, to be completed next year, the plant’s hydrofluoric (HF) technology will be replaced with a “Detal” process, allowing capacity to be increased by 50,000 tonnes/year, or 25%.
