BLOG: Pressure on US builds as PE exports to China tumble and EU considers tariffs

US linear-low density polyethylene (LLDPE) exports to China could fall by 53% in 2019 as its other key exports also come under pressure. US LLDPE exports are in decline because of the 25% tariffs China has imposed as part of the trade war. The EU is also considering imposing tariffs on US PE. Overall economic pressure on the US might be sufficient to result in an end to its trade disputes with both China and the EU. Or the disputes could drag on and on with severe economic consequences for all the parties involved.
