Papillary fibroelastoma as an occasional finding

A 57-year-old women, without cardiac history, was admitted to the hospital because of atypical chest pain. The serial analyses of troponin I were negative. During the work-up, a transthoracal echocardiogram (TTE) was suspicious for a tumorous structure attached to the anterior mitral valve leaflet (AMVL). This finding was confirmed by transoesophageal echocardiography (TEE).
