SINGAPORE (ICIS)--New polyethylene (PE) supply expected to come on-stream in 2017 is likely to weigh down on Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) spot prices in the first half of the next year. Demand for plastics in key sectors such as packaging, consumer goods and construction remains hampered as a result of a lacklustre macroeconomic performance brought on by a weak crude environment, market sources said.
