Asia PE margins gain even as naphtha costs hit 2016 high

HOUSTON (ICIS)--Asia polyethylene (PE) margins rose in the week ended 16 December as rising product and co-product prices overpowered an increase in feedstock naphtha costs that took them to a 52-week high, the ICIS margin report showed on Tuesday. Prices in northeast (NE) Asia for low-density PE (LDPE) rose by 1.9%, while high-density PE (HDPE) prices increased by 4.7%, fuelling the margin increases.
