China methanol prices inch up on higher futures prices

SINGAPORE (ICIS)--Chinese methanol spot import prices inched up at the high end of the price range for the week ended 22 April, supported mainly by the higher futures prices and recoveries seen in the broader upstream markets. In addition, the unplanned shutdown of one major regional producer also added a tinge of uncertainty in the supply situation although the shutdown did not have material impact on the producer’s contractual supplies to its customers.
