HOUSTON (ICIS)--US Monument Chemical has announced that it will seek a 5 cents/lb ($110/tonne) price increase for glycol products from the start of September, ICIS learned on Friday. In a letter to customers dated 9 August, the company said that both propylene glycol industrial (PGI) grade and propylene glycol US pharmaceutical (PGUSP) prices will increase by 5 cents/lb, effective 1 September.

7. Commodity prices have risen sharply since 2006. This may benefit developing countries specialized on primary exports, but poverty may increase.
