LG Chem invests W400bn to expand South Korea elastomer capacity

SINGAPORE (ICIS)--LG Chem will spend about won (W) 400bn ($352m) to expand its elastomer capacity in Daesan, Chungnam, to meet growing demand, the South Korea's chemical maker said on Monday. It will build a new 200,000 tonne/year plant, which will raise its total elastomers capacity to 290,000 tonnes/year by 2018, the company said.
