Europe VAM falls back in Jan as import duty suspended

LONDON (ICIS)--Sources in the European vinyl acetate monomer (VAM) market at the end of the week confirmed a fall in contract prices in January, compared with December 2015. The decline is mainly because of the lifting of the import duty for VAM entering the EU. This suspension of the tariff will apply to the first 200,000 tonnes to arrive this year.
