China industries contract for 6th month in Jan; PMI at 49.4

SINGAPORE (ICIS)--China’s purchasing managers’ index (PMI) in January fell to 49.4 from 49.7 in December, indicating that the country's industries have been in contraction for the sixth consecutive month, official data showed on Monday. The decline in January PMI was partly attributed to falling new export orders, according to the China Federation of Logistics & Purchasing (CFLP).
