Crude up $1/bbl on weak US dollar ahead of stock data

LONDON (ICIS)--NYMEX light sweet crude futures gained more than $1.00/bbl on Wednesday to take the front month May contract close to $40.00/bbl on the back of a weaker US dollar and expectations that the weekly US stock data from the Energy Information Administration (EIA) will mirror the smaller-than-forecast build shown in Tuesday’s figures from the American Petroleum Institute (API).
