CVD Prevention and Control is relaunched as Global Heart

The World Heart Federation and Elsevier are delighted to announce the changing identity of the journal, CVD Prevention and Control, to be renamed as Global Heart, as of September 2011. Global Heart is the official journal of the World Heart Federation. The World Heart Federation, a nongovernmental organization, is the world's only global body dedicated to leading the fight against heart disease and stroke, with a focus on low- and middle-income countries. This is the perfect time for a journal dedicated to prevention and control of cardiovascular disease to exist. In light of the United Nations High-Level Summit on non-communicable diseases (NCDs) taking place in September 2011, CVD Prevention and Control is a pivotal publication in the delivery of the World Heart Federation's strategic goals. Tremendous efforts have been invested in raising the profile of cardiovascular diseases on the global health and development agendas and, as part of our UN Summit advocacy priorities, we have been pushing for critical research and data gaps, particularly within developing countries, to be urgently addressed. The World Heart Federation's vision for CVD Prevention and Control is that when these funding opportunities open up for it to be used as the vehicle through which this new and exciting CVD research is published.
