Densities and ultrasonic speeds have been measured in pure dimethylsulphoxide (DMSO), N,N-dimethylformamide (DMF), N,N-dimethylacetamide (DMA), and in their binary mixtures with DMSO as common component, over the entire composition range of the mixtures, at 308.15, 313.15 and 318.15K. The isentropic compressibility, relative association, acoustic impedance, molar sound speed, molecular association, excess isentropic compressibility, excess ultrasonic speed, excess acoustic impedance, and excess volume have been calculated from the experimental data. These parameters are used to discuss the molecular interactions between the component molecules. These excess functions are found to be sensitive to the nature and extent of the interactions taking place in these binary mixtures.
