It has been known that S transfer between molten steel and molten slag is an electrochemical reaction [1]. PPrevious researchers ha revious have ve reported that applying electric current enhance enhancess desulfurization of a molten steel by a molten slag [2, 3]. Also, the mechanism of the electric current driven the desulfurization has been studied [3, 4]. However, these studies focuse focused on the phenomenon of electrochemical d desulfurization under limited conditions, and there is a lack of eval evaluation on the practical use. uation In the present study, efficiency of the electrochemical desulfurization of molten steel by molten slag was investigated in terms of the current and the reaction rate by a kinetic interpretation interpretation.
