The recently introduced cross-hole deburring tool from Xebec Technology Co. Ltd. is like a world-class gymnast: flexible and strong. The company designed the tool to remove fine burrs-those with base thicknesses up to 0.1 mm- without damaging the periphery of the cross-hole or breaking its edge pattern. The key feature of the tool is its columnar rods (Figure 1). A rod consists of 1,000 alumina-fiber filaments, each of which is 10 μm in diameter.
