Reline of Gwangyang No.3 Blast Furnace

Blast furnaces in Gwangyang have been produced 250 million tons of hot metal for 20 years since the first tap of No.1 blast furnace in 1987. Since the reline of No.1 furnace in 2002, No.2 furnace was relined in 2005 and No.3 in 2007 with increased furnace volume. The reline construction periods had been decreased as follows; G1R1-99 days, G2R1-66 days, G3R1-55 days without using large block method. The reline of No.3 blast furnace was done from 6 Oct ~ 29 Nov of 2007, which has produced 13,933T/m3(I.V) during the fist campaign for 16 years and 10 months.
