Recognition for graph images in documents by tracking connected components

There have been many studies for recognizing document images. They are rewarded with good results. However, graph images in documents are handled only as images. If graph images can be recognized and understood, we can handle electronic documents more efficiently. There are some researches for recognizing graph images. Their targets are bar graphs and line graphs with markers. We propose a method to recognize graph images that consist of solid lines, dotted lines, and no marker.
