We started by ensuring we clearly understood what the HSST programme is. The Higher Specialist Scientist Training Programme (HSST) is a five-year work based programme supported by an underpinning part-time doctoral level programme. It has been developed and is supported by the Medical Royal Colleges and professional bodies and is open to clinical scientists and those seeking and achieving equivalence through the Academy of Healthcare Science.
