Evaluation is an essential step in the dental hygiene process of care. While the term may imply an action that is taken at the end of treatment, evaluation is an ongoing activity that is used throughout the dental hygiene process of care. Like the dental hygiene diagnosis, evaluation is the means by which critical thinking skills are employed to adapt and adjust to the ongoing considerations and treatment needs of the patient.
