European framework programme 7:Clean Sky JTI - Eco-Design platform

The Clean Sky Joint Technology Initiative,jointly proposed by the European Commission,11 major European aeronautics companies and 1 Research Establishment,will deliver technologies for aircraft,rotorcraft and their associated equipment to dramatically improve the impact of air transport on the environment while securing a playing field for the European aeronautics sector at the global economic level,Clean Sky will be built upon 6 "platforms" or Integrated Technology Demonstrators (ITD).These will perform preliminary studies and down-selection work,followed by large-scale ground or in-flight demonstrations in order to bring innovative technologies to a maturity level where they can be applied to new-generation "green" aircraft.One of these platforms is the Eco-Design ITD,focused on designing equipped airframes for a reduction in inputs,outputs and nuisances.
