The recently belated Peter Drucker-renowned author,professor,and consultant-wrote in his book The Practice of Management,that any business enterprise has only two basic functions:marketing and innovation.All else is detail.Many people would discuss this statement,and talk about operational excellence,customer service,salesmanship,and other skills that are essential for the success of a company.But when you think about it further,all these functions serve only one purpose:to meet the customer's needs.And therefore,we are back to the issue of marketing.
