Siidwestkarton, a subsidiary of Panther Packaging, in Illingen, Germany, is restructuring its in-house logistics system during the course of 2010 to improve material flows and productivity. The total investment is approximately ?4 million.Processing machinery will be positioned in a continuous line above a newly constructed waste channel so that production waste runs automatically directly into the waste press. In-house transportation of corrugated-board stacks is being converted to an aluminium sleeve system to avoid the use of wooden pallets.
