Flexible food packaging is one of the potential application areas for a new polyamide film from MF Folien, based on Royal DSM's bio-based EcoPaXX polyamide 410. The cast film is now available in 30, 40 and 50 micron grades, Rainer Leising, general sales manager at MF Folien, says: "EcoPaXX polyamide 410 films are strong and transparent with a high puncture resistance. They have a reduced moisture transmission rate versus polyamide 6 film, and a comparable oxygen barrier; when fully wet, the oxygen barrier is even higher."
