摘要

This paper clarified the performance of our formerly proposed 3-step cell search algorithm using frequency-multiplexed synchronization channel (SCH) for broadband multi-carrier CDMA in the forward link, taking into consideration the various channel conditions (delay spread, number of multipaths). Simulation results demonstrated that, even if the number of active dedicated physical channels was different among the cells, the cell search at the detection probability of 90% was accomplished in less than 95 msec, where the RMS delay spread was 0.11-0.61 μsec in a 24-path Rayleigh fading channel. Furthermore, it was also achieved in 135 msec when the number of multipaths is more than 6 with the RMS delay spread of 0.21 μsec.
