摘要

This paper proposes an on-line RF receiver circuitry calibration method employing the exclusive calibration signal for the adaptive antenna array transmit diversity in the forward link. In the proposed method, the power of the exclusive calibration signal or the averaging time is adaptively controlled according to the measured total received signal power in order to disregard the loss of the required transmission power which is caused by inserting the calibration signal into the received signal. Laboratory experimental results elucidate that when the ratio of the calibration signal power to the total received signal power, △{sub}(ref) value was -10dB, very accurate RF circuitry calibration such as that with the standard deviations of the amplitude of approximately 0.02 dB and that of the phase below 0.2 degrees is stably achieved irrespective of the total received signal power by using the proposed RF circuitry calibration. And when △{sub}(ref) is - 10 dB, the loss in the required transmission power for traffic channels in the reverse link by inserting the exclusive calibration signal is only 0.2 dB.
